The Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It

Depending on how you use the Website, we may collect several types of information from you, including:

In order to provide an enhanced customer experience, we may occasionally request additional information such as your gender, shopping preferences, product interest, and email notification preferences. Whether you provide this information is completely optional and up to you.

  • Automatically As You Navigate Our Website. We use automatic data collection technologies, including third-party services, to collect additional information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns including:
  1. details of your visits to our Website, including page views and clicks, search activity, cart activity, location data, and the resources you access and use on the Website.
  2. information about your computer and Internet connection, such as browser type, browser version, operating system and IP address. This information allows us to see which areas of our Website are most visited, and helps us improve the quality of your online experience by recognizing and delivering more of the most desired features and services. To better understand and optimize the user experience, we also use third-party user session recording technology.   • The information obtained from online registration is utilized to improve your shopping experience with Skechers by enabling you to earn reward points, obtain a faster checkout for purchases and/or opt-in to receive promotional emails, which provide you with the latest and greatest information regarding Skechers and its products.
  • The telephone and credit card number information we ask for when you order online is used only to complete the order, confirm the order and confirm shipment of the order. Limited credit card information is then stored only for the purposes of faster checkout (for Elite Members only), and is not used for any other purpose.
  • In any other way we may describe when you provide the information or for any other purpose with your consent.

Except as described in this Privacy Notice, Skechers does not sell, rent or trade any personal information you provide to us online or at our stores, nor do we share such information with third parties. We may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide as described in this Privacy Notice:

  • To our subsidiaries and affiliates, which may require transferring your information outside of the United States.
  • To our agents, contractors, business partners, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them. Examples of these services include payment processing and authorization, fraud protection and credit risk reduction, product customization, order fulfillment and shipping, advertising strategies, marketing and promotional material distribution, website usage evaluation, data analysis and, where applicable, data cleansing. We also may share non-personal information (such as the number of users who visited the website during a specific time period or who purchased a specific product through the website) with our marketing partners, advertisers and others from time to time. This information generally is shared in an aggregated form.
  • To third parties, such as credit agencies, to verify delivery names and addresses for online orders. If you provide us with a delivery name and address which is not your own, you must have that person’s permission to give us their personal information and for us to use it for the purposes specified. By providing it, you are affirming that you have their permission to do so.
  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Skechers assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Skechers about our Website users is among the assets transferred. If that happens, your personal information may be disclosed to another company, but that disclosure will be subject to Skechers’ Privacy Notice.
  • To enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes.
  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request
  • If we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Skechers or any of our respective affiliates, business partners, customers, or others.

International Transfers of Personal INformation

In certain circumstances, Skechers may deem it necessary to store, share, or process your Personal Information outside of the country in which your personal information was originally collected, including the United States and/or countries outside the European Economic Area.


Skechers takes special care to protect the safety and privacy of children. Our Website is not intended for individuals under 16 years of age. We do not permit anyone under the age of 16 to register with us, nor do we knowingly send email correspondence or knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16. If you are under 16 years of age, do not use or provide any information on this Website. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from an individual under 16 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information.


From time to time, Skechers communicates to customers by email or text to inform them of changes to, special offers that might become available, and other information Skechers believes will be of interest to site visitors. Skechers will send these types of communications to you only if you opt-in to receive Skechers marketing messages (by registering to receive our email or text updates, registering for the Skechers Elite™ program, signing up in person at a Skechers event, or by contacting our customer service department and specifically requesting to be added to our marketing list(s)).

Opt-out / Unsubscribe

You may request that you stop receiving electronic communications from Skechers anytime. You can cancel emails by updating your contact preferences on our website or following the instructions contained in the footer of our marketing emails. To unsubscribe from SMS, MMS or other mobile messaging, you may also follow the instructions in the messages you receive. It takes some time to put opt-outs in effect, so you may still receive electronic communications from Skechers for several weeks after your request is received.

Please note this opt-out does not apply to emails sent by Skechers related to your orders such as order and shipment confirmations, nor does it apply to Skechers’ email responses to inquiries you make online.

Data Subject Rights

Under the Philippine Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), data subjects are entitled to:

(a) Be informed whether personal information pertaining to him or her shall be, are being or have been processed;

(b) Be furnished the information indicated hereunder before the entry of his or her personal information into the processing system of the personal information controller, or at the next practical opportunity: (1) Description of the personal information to be entered into the system; (2) Purposes for which they are being or are to be processed; (3) Scope and method of the personal information processing; (4) The recipients or classes of recipients to whom they are or may be disclosed;(5) Methods utilized for automated access, if the same is allowed by the data subject, and the extent to which such access is authorized;(6) The identity and contact details of the personal information controller or its representative;(7) The period for which the information will be stored; and (8) The existence of their rights, i.e., to access, correction, as well as the right to lodge a complaint before the Commission.

Any information supplied or declaration made to the data subject on these matters shall not be amended without prior notification of data subject: Provided, That the notification under subsection (b) shall not apply should the personal information be needed pursuant to a subpoena or when the collection and processing are for obvious purposes, including when it is necessary for the performance of or in relation to a contract or service or when necessary or desirable in the context of an employer-employee relationship, between the collector and the data subject, or when the information is being collected and processed as a result of legal obligation;

(c) Reasonable access to, upon demand, the following: (1) Contents of his or her personal information that were processed;(2) Sources from which personal information were obtained; (3) Names and addresses of recipients of the personal information; (4) Manner by which such data were processed; (5) Reasons for the disclosure of the personal information to recipients; (6) Information on automated processes where the data will or likely to be made as the sole basis for any decision significantly affecting or will affect the data subject; (7) Date when his or her personal information concerning the data subject were last accessed and modified; and (8) The designation, or name or identity and address of the personal information controller;

(d) Dispute the inaccuracy or error in the personal information and have the personal information controller correct it immediately and accordingly, unless the request is vexatious or otherwise unreasonable. If the personal information have been corrected, the personal information controller shall ensure the accessibility of both the new and the retracted information and the simultaneous receipt of the new and the retracted information by recipients thereof: Provided, That the third parties who have previously received such processed personal information shall he informed of its inaccuracy and its rectification upon reasonable request of the data subject;

(e) Suspend, withdraw or order the blocking, removal or destruction of his or her personal information from the personal information controller’s filing system upon discovery and substantial proof that the personal information are incomplete, outdated, false, unlawfully obtained, used for unauthorized purposes or are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected. In this case, the personal information controller may notify third parties who have previously received such processed personal information; and

(f) Be indemnified for any damages sustained due to such inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, false, unlawfully obtained or unauthorized use of personal information.

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to one or more exceptions allowed under the DPA.

We reserve the right to deny data subject requests if we believe the request is subject to one or more exceptions or if the request would violate any legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
In order to protect your privacy, Skechers takes steps to verify your identity before granting data subject access requests. Skechers will accomplish this through the use of passwords and personal data. We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor's identity or authority to make the request.

Response Timing and Format

We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within 1 month of its receipt. If we require more time (up to 3 months total), we will inform you, within the first month of receiving your request, of the reason and extension period in writing.
If you have an account with us that is linked to an email address, we will deliver our written response to that email address. If you do not have an email address registered with us, we will deliver our written response by mail or electronically, at your option. If applicable, the response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request. 
For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.
We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.

Data Security

Skechers has in place technologies and processes that are intended to reduce the likelihood of unauthorized access to information and to help improve data security. However, no method of transmitting information over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Website.


It is our policy to post any updates we make to our Privacy Notice on this webpage. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' personal information, we will notify you by email to the email address specified in your account and/or through a notice on the Website home page. The date the Privacy Notice was last updated is identified at the top of the page.
